Become a foster carer - make a difference

Many different people become carers. You can be a couple or single. The main qualities we look for in carers are a genuine interest in children and a willingness to have the child’s best interests at heart.

What is expected of foster carers?

Wesley Dalmar foster carers are able to demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Provide good quality day to day care for children and respect the Code of Conduct for Authorised Carers,
  • Provide a safe environment that is free from abuse,
  • Work as part of a team with case managers to support the children in their care,
  • Promote the positive development of children and young people in foster care,
