Consumer and carer committees
Patients at Wesley Hospital Ashfield and Wesley Hospital Kogarah are represented by a Consumer and Carer Advisory Committee at each site. These committees meet regularly to discuss a range of topics and provide valuable representation in a range of areas relating to in-patient care.
Our Consumer and Carer Committees are made up of former patients and carers who are experienced in caring for people suffering from mental illness.
In-patients can air their views at community meetings attended by representatives of the Consumer and Carer Committees. These opinions and ideas are relayed to the management of the hospitals by the committees, who work collaboratively to respond to issues as they arise.
