Wesley Vocational Institute, the Registered Training Organisation of Wesley Mission, has been successfully delivering accredited and non accredited training for 15 years. With offices in Lismore, Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong / ACT and strong partnerships interstate, Wesley Vocational Institute is seeking to employ a Finance & Performance Manager to work with our Finance and Performance team.

Acting Manager

Dalmar Out of Home Care

  • Based at Penrith
  • Full-time position for a six month period

Wesley Mission ministers to a community with real needs. Through witness, work and the help of supporters we can turn lives around for good.

Due to enhanced funding and internal restructuring, Wesley Dalmar, Out of Home Care, offers a challenging and rewarding management opportunity for an experienced professional.

The Acting Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of caseworkers and foster carers as they provide support for the various needs of the children and young people in the programme. This role will include supporting staff in the development of identified professional skills, as well as ensuring that the programme’s foster carers are provided with training and support, and that the programme fulfils all requirements relating to the Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCCG) accreditation.

The Acting Manager will also be responsible for preparing annual budgets for the programme in consultation with the Operations and Regional Manager and ensuring that the programme operates within the agreed budget. In addition, the Acting Manager will be proactive in identifying opportunities for growth and expansion of the service (including new areas of service delivery and research), and will initiate, support and encourage appropriate fundraising activities to augment capital and programme funding.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent related degree
  • Ability to provide leadership and supervision within a team setting
  • Experience working with children and families in Out-of-home Care
  • Knowledge of N.S.W. Child Protection and Out of Home Care Standards
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and occasional Saturdays
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and OH&S Principles

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in programme management &/or management qualifications

Attractive Salary Conditions of employment are based on SACS Award Grade 6 ($60,555 to $64, 077), with capacity for salary packaging and the provision of a fully maintained motor vehicle.

This is a child-related position and appointment is conditional to a satisfactory Working with Children Check.

Family & Community Worker

Practice Coordinator (Maternity Relief)

Wesley Consulting Rooms Kogarah

A full-time Practice Coordinator is required at our specialist consulting rooms in Kogarah to cover a 5 month maternity leave vacancy.

Wesley Consulting Rooms Kogarah is a busy private practice with 13 Consultant Psychiatrists.

Your role will include the supervision of medical receptionists; staff rostering; administration support to Consultant Psychiatrists; accounts payable and receivable using BlueChip for patients, insurance companies, health funds and doctor; and office/room management.

Essential Criteria:

  • Good interpersonal, organisational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Medical secretarial experience including word processing, understanding and knowledge of computer accounting/report processes, Medicare, Health funds, Work Cover and AMA schedules
  • Computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Word computer applications
  • Word processing of at least 55 wpm and experience in dictation and typing reports/correspondence under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a busy environment
  • Demonstrate customer service skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Compassion in regards to mental health
  • Reliable and punctual

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a customer service/front line role.
  • Prior administrative experience in a private hospital.
  • Medical terminology, use of transcription machine
  • Trained in Blue Chip

Hospitality Services Manager

Trainer/Assessor

Lifeline is currently seeking an enthusiastic Trainer/Assessor to deliver training and assess students being accredited as Lifeline Telephone Counsellors across 3 sites – CBD, Ashfield and Sylvania. This position is based at Ashfield, 32 hours per week.

Essential Criteria:

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) or currently completing TAE 40110 (which will be completed by August 2012)
  • A passionate attitude to adult training and education
  • A developing knowledge and understanding of the principles of delivering training
  • Knowledge and skills of conducting assessments
  • Experience working in a community welfare or mental health setting
  • High level office computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office
  • Must be available to work once a week between Tues & Thur from 11am-8pm

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to work in a self directed manner; managing time and work commitments
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.
  • Some counselling or telephone counselling training and experience.
